Grammy award winner, singer, song writer Sheryl Crow announced today that she has been diagnosed and treated for Breast cancer. On her website Sheryl put a press release stating that the surgery she underwent was minor with the disease being minimally invasive. Her cancer was caught very early, and this could prove to be a boone, because the earlier the cancer is diagnosed, the better the chances of full recover and survival.

Breast cancer is an awful disease that doesn’t discriminate among rich and poor, famous or common people. Just recently we found out that one of our dear friends in her thirties had been diagnosed with Breast cancer. She had to undergo surgery, and is doing fine. Because of her early diagnosis, her prognosis is very good. Needless to say, our thoughts and prayers are with all those women who are afflicted with this awful disease.

All this points to one thing. Young women MUST take self exam seriously, and at the slightest doubt, go to your doctor and discuss this. Its scary to think that one might be a vicim of this disease, but knowlege is power, and those who fight back with knowledge win the battle.
