On the banks of mighty Bramhaputra river, fed by its rich alluvial soils sits a beautiful tea garden owned by the Birlas, the legendary Indian Marwari family hailing from the state of Rajasthan. These enterprising business people left the desert state for Calcutta and ended up becoming one of the most powerful business families in Indian business.
Mangalam, which in Sanskrit means "auspicious", Tea Estate has recently become quite well known for producing quality orthodox. With the emphasis on exports market the quality has picked up dramatically. This particular tea has a beautiful longish black leaf with beautiful golden buds. The tea produces beautiful golden liquor with robust Assam flavor, reminiscent of the gorgeous autumnals that come out of this region.

- Brewing Temperature: Assam teas are quite capable of withstanding boiling, so if you like strong tea, feel free to boil this tea till it comes to one boil. However best way to produce good flavor is by steeping the tea in water that has just been brought to a boil. This tea goes well with Milk as well.
